Lisa Cornelius was first introduced into the world of pilates while
training for the United States Olympic Team in Figure Skating. Her
pilates training continued while touring as a professional figure skater
in Walt Disney's 'World On Ice' which she performed in for 15 years.
She was educated in both classical and contemporary methods of pilates
through the Core Dynamics training program based out of Santa Fe, NM.
Through this training she has studied under important pilates leaders
such as Michele Larsson, a student of Eve Gentry, Kevin Bowen, founder
of the Pilates Method Alliance, Julian Littleford, Michael Collins,
Virginia Nicholas, Ruth Alpert, Celie Hutton, and Anna Alvarez. In
addition to this she has had the invaluable experience to traveling the
world with the ice show and learning various pilates techniques around
the world. She has a strong understanding of not only Core
Dynamics but also Boulder, Peak, Stott, and Power Pilates training
methods.
Although Lisa has gained a deep background in teaching of professional
athletes she also has spent much time working with the injured and aging
population and those who are possibly just starting their movement
adventure.
Lisa is a member of the Pilates Method Alliance and believes in
continuing the integrity of pilates as Joseph Pilates intended.
